Stefan Szczesny: Woman and Flowers

Stefan Szczesny’s credo has always been ‘the dream of paradise on earth’. This dream and the longing for perfection and beauty have been reflected in his work for 40 years. After he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, his work was shown in numerous galleries worldwide, including in Paris, Zurich, Rome, Venice, Amsterdam, St Tropez, Chicago and New York. His work is now part of many international collections and has been shown in major exhibitions at numerous museums, including the Lenbachhaus in Munich, the Villa Romana in Florence, and the Kunsthalle in Bremen and Cologne. After a long absence, Stefan Szczesny’s work is on display in Hamburg again for the first time, at Galerie Schimming. Alongside his large-format floral paintings, some featuring silhouettes of the female nude, the exhibition will also show his ‘shadow sculptures’.
