It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ’n’ Roll)
10 February – 22 April 2023
We are starting a new year of exhibitions with Julian Hoffmann’s solo show. We are showcasing the full range of his artistic output, which spans from paintings behind old windows to collages of all kinds, sculptures and installations.
In keeping with the exhibition title “It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ’n’ Roll)”, the Berlin-based artist is consistently moving forwards. His latest works once again make this clear. Julian Hoffmann constructs and composes paintings and objects from everyday items of our consumer society by bringing together things that do not naturally belong together. In this process, colour sets the beat, whilst the complexity of his works forms the highs and lows of the tones. Hoffmann, who is often accompanied by music in all its facets whilst working in his studio, finds his inspiration in it just as he does in Berlin, the creative hub and melting pot of the art scene.
In his work, the artist engages intensively and critically with current social issues and, in his own humorous way, confronts the viewer with the contradictions of our world.
Please feel free to drop by at any time.
