Quiet Luxury
9 October – 19 November 2026
Heiner Meyer (born in Bielefeld in 1953) is one of the distinctive German exponents of Pop Art. In his work, luxury objects, comic-book references, film icons and the world of advertising meet a painting technique reminiscent of the Old Masters. What dazzles and seduces at first glance turns out, on a second look, to be a shrewd commentary on consumption, desire and the flood of images of our time.
Quiet Luxury presents paintings and sculptures, most of them from 2025 and 2026, including Palm Desert and Toreras, together with the small-format series Quiet Luxury and Hochmair in photograph and oil on canvas.
For the first time, Heiner Meyer has also reworked his prints by hand, not across the whole sheet but in a few places, wherever the sheet calls for it. What begins as an edition thus ends as a series of unique pieces. We will present the complete series on the opening evening.
